From August 18 to 21, the Republic of Tajikistan is hosting a business mission of representatives from Belarusian business circles. The visit was organized by the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan. The mission’s primary objectives are to develop direct production partnerships, find new partners, and diversify bilateral trade.
The Belarusian delegation includes companies with strong export potential. It comprises food-processing enterprises representing the dairy, flour and cereal, and pasta industries, as well as manufacturers of potato products and snacks. The delegation also includes producers of medical equipment and electrical products, including lighting equipment and electrical installation products. Representatives of the exchange-trading sector and the IT industry, specializing in business automation and 1C systems integration, are also taking part.
The business program began with a meeting at the Embassy of Belarus in Tajikistan. During the talks, Belarusian companies presented their export capabilities and outlined their objectives in the Tajik market.
The centerpiece of the visit was a business meeting and a series of B2B negotiations held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan. The event generated considerable interest among the business community, bringing together representatives of leading Tajik companies. This clearly demonstrates the strong practical interest in Belarusian products and technologies.
Opening the plenary session, Nasim Naimovich Anvarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, emphasized the importance of developing direct production contacts. Alexey Leonidovich Lachimov, Senior Adviser at the Embassy of Belarus, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks and noted the highly dynamic nature of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The packed business program yielded concrete results. The key outcome of the negotiations was the signing of a $1 million contract for the supply of Belarusian whole-milk products to Tajikistan.
In addition, a number of other agreements were reached following the meetings:
“This year, Belarus has already hosted two delegations from Tajikistan. In particular, a delegation from the Sughd Region visited us on a business trip, including representatives of more than 25 companies. In addition, another visit by a Tajik delegation took place in July as part of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. These meetings provided another platform for strengthening business contacts, discussing prospects for implementing joint projects, and expanding bilateral trade between the two countries,” said Tatyana Dubova, Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department at the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The business mission is continuing. Belarusian entrepreneurs are still scheduled to visit Tajik manufacturing enterprises. The mission’s work is laying a solid foundation for the future by supporting the sustained expansion of Belarus’s trade and economic presence in the Central Asian market.
