Business Forum “Republic of Belarus – Moscow Region”

A business forum “Republic of Belarus – Moscow Region” and bilateral negotiations between the representatives of Belarusian and Moscow Region enterprises were organized by the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI together with the Minsk Regional Executive Committee on December 18, 2023 as part of an official visit of the Head of Moscow Region to the Republic of Belarus. The event took place in the conference hall of the Great Stone Industrial Park.

The forum was opened by Aleksandr Turchin, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, and Andrey Vorobiev, Head of Moscow Region. The event was moderated by Sergey Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI.

Aleksandr Turchin, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, stated in his speech, “Economic structures of Minsk and Moscow Regions have much in common. Manufacturing industry commands a significant part of it. Therefore, there exists a platform for cooperation. A plan of our activities filled with specifics shall be worked out during the next year. I think that the abovementioned will become the starting point in enhancing our relationships”.

The Head of Moscow Region emphasized, “There is an agricultural business being successful both in the Republic of Belarus, and the Russian Federation, and the synergy is found on both sides. There also exists the processing industry; there is everything related to the microelectronics. Nowadays these volumes are outstanding. Our task is to establish conditions for further development. There exists such a desire, as well as the desires related to cultural exchange and educational programmes’ drawing up”.

Presentations were delivered by Ekaterina Zinovieva, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Moscow Region – Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of Moscow Region, regarding cooperation between Moscow Region and the Republic of Belarus, and Vladimir Naumovich, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus, regarding industrial and investment potential of the Republic of Belarus during the forum.

Presentations were also delivered by Aleksandr Burak, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus, regarding technical rate setting and standardization, Vitaly Borchuk, Head of the Main Directorate of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, regarding cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the industrial sector and Aleksandr Osmolovsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange OJSC, regarding advantages of using electronic exchange platforms during the forum opening.

A brief report on peculiarities of the companies from Moscow Region, targeting the Belarusian market was delivered by Adil Gantsov, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of Moscow Region.

Heads and representatives of Belarusian enterprises participating in the event were introduced by Sergey Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI, and representatives of Russian businesses were introduced by Maksim Cherepakhin, Executive Director of the Fund for Supporting Foreign Economic Activities of Moscow Region, at the end of the official part.

The forum was proceeded with bilateral negotiations between Belarusian and Russian enterprises after the plenary part. More than 30 Belarusian enterprises and 7 Moscow Region enterprises took part in the negotiations. Issues regarding delivery of corrosion-resistant pipes, equipment for electrical networks, industrial pumps, electric generators and transformers, safety-related parts of roofing systems, salmon and trout products to Belarus were discussed during the negotiations.

Street exhibition of industrial achievements of Minsk Region was organized as part of the forum. Inventions of Pozhsnab LLC, ATK CJSC and Geely were presented there.
