From August 13 to 16, 2025, the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelTPP) organized a business visit for a delegation of Belarusian companies to the People's Republic of China. The trip aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation, expand international connections, and exchange experiences in key industrial and economic sectors. The delegation visited Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The visit featured a busy agenda, including a series of strategic meetings. The Belarusian representatives engaged in negotiations with the leadership of the Nansha District Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangzhou, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Invest Hong Kong, and several prominent companies in both Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
A major focus was on familiarizing themselves with advanced technological facilities. The delegation toured the Phase IV automated container terminal at Nansha Port in Guangzhou, which is the first fully automated terminal in China and in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, built using cutting-edge Chinese technologies.
During the meetings in Guangzhou, participants actively discussed the cooperation potential of the Nansha area for Belarusian businesses, highlighting its strategic location within a world-class "golden triangle" formed by Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
A significant event was the meeting at the "Going Global" Comprehensive Service Center for Chinese Enterprises, wh ere the Belarusian delegation was introduced to innovative government services. This included support for Outbound Direct Investment (ODI) projects, as well as legal, financial, and tax advisory services.
In Hong Kong, a key platform for dialogue was the agency Invest Hong Kong. During a roundtable discussion, participants examined Hong Kong's unique advantages as a global financial and business hub. The Belarusian representatives received detailed information about market entry opportunities, tools for supporting foreign businesses, and methods for assessing the reliability of potential partners in China and Hong Kong.
The meeting also emphasized the significant potential for Belarusian food exports. According to Invest Hong Kong, with a local population of 7.5 million and access to over 86 million potential consumers from the entire Greater Bay Area, the Hong Kong food and beverage market is 95% dependent on imports. This situation opens up extensive opportunities for Belarusian food producers and suppliers.
