Meeting with the Mayor of Dezhou City and Delegation of Shandong Province (PRC) Strengthens Belarus-China Cooperation

May 7, Minsk — A meeting aimed at deepening economic partnership between Belarus and China was held at the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI). General Director of the Minsk Branch of BelCCI, Sergei Nabeshko, alongside representatives of Belarusian business circles, met with Zhou Kaigo, Mayor of Dezhou City (Shandong Province, PRC), and a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs. The event marked a significant step in implementing the strategic agreements between the two countries.

The Chinese delegation included leaders of leading regional enterprises with a combined turnover exceeding $2 billion:

• Sunstone Development Co., Ltd. — Global leader in pre-baked anode production for metallurgy (every third aluminum plant worldwide uses their anodes).

• Bolt Elevator Co., Ltd. — Specializes in elevators, escalators, and smart urban infrastructure solutions (“smart” elevators predict sensor malfunctions a week in advance).

• Deli Technology Co., Ltd. (GEMDA) — High-tech manufacturer of saw blades, diamond discs, and abrasive materials (diamond blades cut steel like butter with a precision of 0.01 mm!).

• Shandong Grad Group Co., Ltd. — Developer of central air conditioning systems, composite materials, and solar energy solutions (their solar panels + AC systems save up to 70% energy).

During the meeting, the parties discussed:

• Expanding trade and economic cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative framework.

• Opportunities for collaboration in industry, energy, construction, and high-tech sectors.

• Prospects for increasing mutual supplies and localizing production.

• Implementing Chinese innovations in Belarusian enterprises to enhance competitiveness.

Special emphasis was placed on projects capable of creating new jobs and attracting investment to Belarusian regions. Chinese companies presented case studies of their technologies, expressing readiness to adapt them to the needs of the Belarusian market.

The parties agreed to:

• Organize mutual business missions and participation in industry exhibitions (including events in Minsk and Shandong).

• Conduct a series of presentations on the investment and cultural potential of both countries.

• Develop pilot projects in green energy, mechanical engineering, and composite materials.

Sergei Nabeshko said: “Belarus is interested in transferring advanced technologies and developing joint production facilities. I am confident that today’s dialogue will lay the foundation for long-term projects strengthening our economies.”

Zhou Kaigo: “Shandong Province is ready to share expertise in urbanization and innovation. We see great potential in cooperation with Belarusian enterprises, particularly in industry and ‘smart’ energy.”

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest of Belarus and China in building sustainable partnerships.
