21 March 2025

The II meeting of the Council of heads of legal services of enterprises – members of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Soligorsk. The event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the BelCCI Denis Meleshkin.

The current meeting is more practical in nature, so the participants – more than 70 representatives of the largest enterprises in Belarus – gathered at the site of one of the leading flagships of Belarusian exports, a member of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Belaruskali OJSC.

"It is important to have the opportunity to exchange opinions and find joint solutions, as well as to establish a dialogue between businesses, which is a key factor for the successful development of entrepreneurship in our country," Denis Meleshkin emphasized.

During the meeting, the participants discussed a wide range of issues relevant to the business environment. In particular, much attention was paid to the legal aspects of economic activity with residents of the People's Republic of China. The choice of this topic is not accidental. It is due to the needs and requests that were sent by the members of the Council to form the agenda of the event. Thus, the speakers spoke in detail about the specifics of arbitration in the PRC, applicable law under foreign economic agreements, recognition and enforcement of decisions of Belarusian economic courts and international arbitrations in China, etc.

An additional session was also planned to discuss individual issues in terms of the emerging practice of applying the amendments to the Civil Code of the Republic of Belarus. Topics such as the application of amendments to the Civil Code and the written form of a foreign trade transaction were considered. The speakers also spoke in detail about what businesses should pay attention to in 2025, taking into account changes in legislation.

At the end of the event, the participants summed up the results, exchanged opinions and answered the remaining questions.
