Visit of Harbin delegation, Pingfang District to Minsk

From April 26 to 28, the Minsk branch of the BelCCI organized a visit of a delegation from Harbin, headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Pingfang district administration.

Within the framework of the visit on April 27, 2023 a business forum "Minsk - Harbin: Presentation of Cooperation Opportunities between Belarus and China," as well as bilateral negotiations between the Belarusian and Harbin business circles were held. The opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Nabeshko, General Director of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zhou Govei, Deputy Chairman of the Pingfang District Administration of Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone, Aleksandra Igovina, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Sovetsky District in Minsk.

During his welcoming speech, General Director of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI noted that over the past 20 years, and especially in recent years, the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation has developed comprehensively and reached a qualitatively new level. And the recent official visit of the Head of our country to China proofs this fact. At the end of 2022, China became Belarus second largest trading partner after Russia.

Zhou Govei, Vice Chairman of the Pingfang District Administration of the Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone, briefed forum participants on the advantages of the Pingfang District Economic and Technological Development Zone in Harbin. For reference:

The 95-square-kilometer administrative district of Pinfang, with a population of 230,000, includes a large number of industrial enterprises. Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1991 and has 254 large industrial enterprises, 210 enterprises with foreign capital. 28 of the world's 500 largest enterprises are located in the area.

At the end of his speech, Zhou Govei stressed that he sees our cooperation in such areas as equipment manufacturing, foreign trade, which will create an important platform for cooperation between China and Belarus. 

During the plenary part of the forum, participants were welcomed by the Deputy Head of the Administration of the Sovetsky District Igovina A.Yu., introducing the economic potential of the Sovetsky District.

The business forum highlighted the industrial potential of Belarus, opportunities for cooperation, as well as the use of electronic exchange platforms to increase trade turnover.

After the speeches, representatives of Belarusian and Harbin businesses held bilateral negotiations. During their stay in Belarus, the delegation visited the Great Stone Industrial Park, its residents, and BELAZ OJSC.
