Business visit of Belarusian companies to Chennai, India

The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a business visit to India in order to study the market and search for potential partners, establish and develop mutually  eneficial contacts between business circles.

Chennai was not chosen by chance. The city is one of the country's largest industrial centers. It is known for its high-tech companies, especially in the IT and automotive sectors. Also, Asia's largest international paper industry exhibition, Paperex South India 2024, was held during this period. 

14 representatives of Belarusian companies and organizations of various spheres were included in the delegation. 

Тoday, Belarusian business is interested in strengthening interaction with India to the level of strategic partnership and readiness to implement joint projects. The Belarus-India Business Forum and B2B negotiations were the centerpiece of the business visit of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI. Irina Ivanova, Head of the Belarusian delegation - Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Minsk branch of the BelCCI, presented the economic and investment potential of the Republic of Belarus on the platform of the South Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of Belarusian  businesses held business negotiations aimed at developing exports in order to explore opportunities for supplying Belarusian products and prospects for setting up joint ventures. The parties discussed the nuances of doing business between the two countries, and possible logistics routes.

The Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South India signed a Cooperation Agreement at the end of the business forum. During the  visit, the Belarusian delegation held a number of meetings with the Tamil Nadu ,Chief Secretary of the State Department of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Commissioner of Industries-Director of the State Department of Industry and Commerce.

The business trip included visits to Sri City Industrial Park, industrial units, Paperex South India 2024, an international paper industry exhibition.
