
The business forum “Minsk and Moscow: A New Driver for Development", that was successfully held as part of the Minsk Days in Moscow, became a key platform for deepening the economic integration of the two capitals. The event brought together over 70 representatives of the business communities of Belarus and Russia, who discussed current prospects and challenges of bilateral cooperation.
Such government representatives,as Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, State Secretary of the Union State Sergei Glazyev, and Head of the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow Sergei Cheremin highlighted the strategic importance of the forum.
Vladimir Kukharev noted: "This forum will be an important step in strengthening the relationship between Minsk and Moscow. Over the years of effective joint work, the countries have gained a significant experience, which allows us to achieve meaningful results. Positive dynamics are recorded annually, and it is important to continue moving forward without resting on our laurels."
The forum moderator Sergei Nabeshko, who is a General Director of the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI ( Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry ), emphasized that such dialogues are necessary for forming strong partnership ties and implementing new large-scale projects.
The central issue of the forum was expanding of cooperation : the role of chambers of commerce and industry, the development of the "Moscow-Minsk" platform, improving conditions for investors in special economic zones (SEZs) and industrial parks, as well as the introduction of new financial instruments for mutual settlements. Particular attention was paid to measures to support the export of Belarusian goods and the promotion of technological innovations.
A key outcome of the forum was the signing of specific documents aimed at strengthening business ties:
- A cooperation agreement between RPTUP «Managing Company of the Holding „Belarusian Cement Company“» and OOO «Trade House „MOST'».
- An agreement with AO «Road Construction Company „AVTOBAN"».
- An agreement for the supply of products from OAO "Minsk Watch Plant" to the "Oltime" retail network.
The forum was concluded with a series of B2B negotiations, during which representatives from the two countries established direct contacts and outlined plans for the implementation of joint projects.
Moreover,a fair of Belarusian goods is being held on Tverskaya Square, which vividly demonstrates the quality and diversity of products from Belarusian manufacturers, helping to strengthen their position in the Russian market and expand the cultural dialogue between the capitals.
