Days of the Vologda Region in the Republic of Belarus Successfully Concluded in Minsk
25 August 2025

Large-scale events within the framework of the Days of the Vologda Region in the Republic of Belarus were held with great success in the capital of Belarus. The central event of the program was the presentation of the Vologda Region, which marked a new stage in the development of trade and economic cooperation between the region and Belarusian partners.

The business program was opened by a plenary session, where honored guests delivered welcoming speeches. The participants were greeted by Governor of the Vologda Region Georgy Filimonov, Chairman of the "Bellesbumprom" Concern Alexander Pshenny, First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Nadezhda Lazarevich, and Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus Yury Zolotarev.

During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation of the Vologda Region's capabilities was made. Chairman of the Regional Government Alexander Mordvinov spoke in detail about the trade, economic, and investment potential of the region. Deputy Governor – Minister of Economic Development of the region Dmitry Rodionov outlined the prospects for tourism development, and Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources Sergei Voropaev presented the opportunities of the agro-industrial complex.

The culmination of the official part was the signing ceremony of a number of significant documents. With the participation of Governor Georgy Filimonov, the Program for the Development of Cooperation between the Government of the Vologda Region and the Government of the Republic of Belarus for 2026–2028 was signed, as well as a Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of the Forest Complex of the region and the "AMKODORLESMASH" holding.

Furthermore, partnership agreements were concluded at the municipal level between Vologda and Mogilev, Vologda and the Oktyabrsky District of Minsk, as well as between the Velikoustyug District and the Polotsk District.

The ceremony of signing commercial contracts was of particular practical value. Vologda companies ("Vologodskie Mashiny", "Nord Feed", "NextPromMet", "Babayevsky Lespromkhoz", "Sosna", "RusTradeWood") concluded firm contracts for the supply of food-grade tanks, feed flour, furniture, timber, and woodworking components with leading Belarusian enterprises.

A key platform for building new business connections was the B2B negotiations, which were organized by the Minsk Branch of the BelCCI. A record number of participants were registered for the meetings: 22 enterprises from the Vologda Region held over 380 productive meetings with representatives of Belarusian businesses. Such high interest from Belarusian companies clearly demonstrates significant potential for increasing mutual trade turnover.

In addition to the business program, guests and residents of Minsk were able to appreciate the variety of Vologda products at a specialized fair, which ran from August 23 to 25. On August 24, a festive concert featuring folk groups from the Vologda Region took place, solemnly opened by Governor Georgy Filimonov and First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Nadezhda Lazarevich.

The holding of the "Days of the Vologda Region" became a landmark event that not only strengthened friendly ties between our regions but also laid a solid foundation for specific, mutually beneficial projects in industry, the agro-industrial complex, the forestry sector, and tourism.
