Meeting with the Mayor of Dezhou City and Delegation from Shandong Province (PRC) Strengthens Belarusian-Chinese Cooperation

On May 7, the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) hosted a meeting aimed at deepening the economic partnership between Belarus and China. Sergei Nabeshko, General Director of the BelCCI Minsk Branch, along with representatives from Belarusian business circles, met with Zhou Kaigou, Mayor of Dezhou City (Shandong Province, PRC), and a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs. This event marked a significant step in implementing the strategic agreements between the two countries.

The Chinese delegation included leaders from major regional enterprises with a total turnover exceeding $2 billion: 

·           Sunstone Development Co., Ltd. — a global leader in the production of prebaked anodes for metallurgy, with their products used by every third aluminum plant worldwide. 

·           Bolt Elevator Co., Ltd. — specializes in elevators, escalators, and smart urban infrastructure solutions, including "smart" elevators that can predict sensor breakdowns a week in advance. 

·           Deli Technology Co., Ltd. (GEMDA) — a high-tech manufacturer of saw blades, diamond discs, and abrasive materials known for their diamond discs that cut steel with precision of 0.01 mm. 

·           Shandong Grad Group Co., Ltd. — develops central air conditioning systems, composite materials, and solar energy solutions, with systems that can save up to 70% in energy costs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed several key topics: 

·          Expanding trade and economic cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. 

·          Opportunities for collaboration in industry, energy, construction, and high-tech sectors, which would include increasing mutual supplies and localizing production. 

·          Implementing Chinese innovations in Belarusian enterprises to enhance their competitiveness. 

A special focus was placed on projects capable of creating new jobs and attracting investments to various regions in Belarus. Chinese companies presented case studies of their technologies and expressed their readiness to adapt these technologies to meet the needs of the Belarusian market.

The parties agreed to: 

·           Organize business missions and participate in industry-specific exhibitions, including events in Minsk and Shandong. 

·           Conduct a series of presentations to showcase the investment and cultural potential of both countries. 

·           Develop pilot projects in green energy, machinery, and composite materials. 

Sergei Nabeshko emphasized, “Belarus is interested in transferring advanced technologies and developing joint production. I am confident that today’s dialogue will lay the foundation for long-term projects aimed at strengthening our economies.”

Zhou Kaigou remarked, “Shandong Province is ready to share its expertise in urbanization and innovation. We see great potential for cooperation with Belarusian enterprises, particularly in industry and 'smart' energy.”

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest of Belarus and China in establishing sustainable partnership ties.
